About Michela

I do this work because I was that woman.

Not the one watching from a safe distance. The one in the middle of it, fully, messily, simultaneously.

Michela Genovese, therapist and founder of Aletheia Therapy

I'm a therapist, mother, wife and midlife woman which means I understand both professionally and personally how easy it is to lose yourself. Not dramatically. Quietly. Somewhere between the fourth fridge calendar you've bought because this one will definitely be the system that works and the moment you realise you're genuinely relieved when someone cancels plans because it means you don't have to wash your hair.

The dog walks you take alone not because you're a fresh-air person but because it's the only eleven minutes nobody needs anything from you. The sourdough phase that was never really about bread. Finding the sugar in the cutlery drawer. Your phone in the freezer. Starting to walk home before remembering you drove.

You're not losing your mind. You're just completely full.

"I am you, just a bit further down the road, with the training to understand what the road actually is."

I spent a decade before training as a therapist working in health, fitness and nutrition. Time and again I watched capable, self-aware women arrive wanting help with food, motivation or getting back on track, when what they were actually carrying was far bigger. What they needed wasn't another plan. It was permission to stop, think, feel and actually hear themselves.

That's still what I see now, just more clearly.

I work with women who are often the ones everyone else relies on. The capable ones. The organised ones. The ones who look like they've got it together while privately feeling exhausted, emotionally stretched or not entirely sure who they are anymore. Women in some kind of transition not always dramatic or obvious. Sometimes it simply feels like life no longer fits the way it used to. And you already know, somewhere, that no amount of collagen supplements or spa days is going to fix it. It feels more like you need a complete life overhaul and that thought is either terrifying, secretly exciting or both at once.

I bring a broader lens to the therapy room than talking therapy alone one that holds the whole person, including nervous system, behaviour patterns, emotional conditioning and the realities of modern life. The ones that don't show up in symptom checklists but absolutely show up in your kitchen at 11pm eating cereal standing up wondering how it got to this.

Clients tell me that working with me feels different. That they feel deeply heard. Safe enough to say things they've never said out loud before. Gently challenged in the right places. And clearer, on who they are, what they need and what has to change.

This is therapy that is warm, honest and genuinely human. Thoughtful support and real conversations the kind that help you understand yourself differently and actually move forward.
