These terms and conditions apply to therapy services provided by Michela Genovese trading as Aletheia Therapy and to the use of this website at aletheiatherapy.co.uk. By engaging our services or using this website, you agree to these terms.
Before beginning therapy, we will have an initial consultation to discuss your needs and confirm that we are a suitable fit. Therapy formally begins when we agree to work together and schedule a first session.
Therapy is a professional service and not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric care. If you are in crisis or require urgent support, please contact your GP, call 111 or contact the Samaritans on 116 123.
The current fee for a 50-minute individual therapy session is £70. Fees are reviewed periodically and you will be given a minimum of one month's notice of any change.
Payment is due at the time of booking or as agreed at the start of our work together. We accept payment by bank transfer or card.
We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice or missed without notice, will be charged in full at the standard session rate.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule sessions where necessary. Where we cancel a session, we will offer an alternative time and no charge will apply.
Either party may end the therapeutic relationship at any time. We ask for at least one session's notice where possible, to allow for a proper ending. Where appropriate, we will discuss referral options if further support is needed.
Everything discussed in sessions is confidential. There are limited exceptions to this where disclosure may be necessary:
In accordance with professional practice, we receive clinical supervision. This involves discussing client work in general terms with a qualified supervisor. Your identity is protected in supervision.
Michela Genovese is a qualified therapist holding a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), membership number 00978824. We adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. If you have a complaint about our services, please raise it directly with us in the first instance. If the matter cannot be resolved, you have the right to escalate to the BACP at bacp.co.uk.
